The Ribblesdale Lodge No. 3393 story comes to an end

The Worshipful Master WBro Paul Taylor and Brethren of Ribblesdale Lodge No.3393 reluctantly surrendered their warrant to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro John Farrington PSGD on Friday the 8th of April.

WBro Keith Simm PProvDepGSuptWks gave an oration on the history of the Lodge which highlighted the many events in the life of the Lodge, it’s famed musicality and recalling the many distinguished Brethren and Civil dignitaries that had happily served amongst its ranks.

After the Worshipful Master had closed the Lodge for the final time, the Warrant and Centenary Warrant were placed in the centre of the Lodge and encircled by the Ribblesdale Brethren along with the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, with the Warrants being passed around the Brethren into the hands of the Worshipful Master.

WBro Farrington proceeded to address the Brethren of the closing Lodge directly, thanking them for their contribution through the Lodge and wishing them all the very best for the future, expressing a sincere that they will all stay actively involved in Freemasonry. With great sadness and visible emotion, the Worshipful Master surrendered the Warrant to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for safe travel to United Grand Lodge, where along with the Minutes of the Lodge, it will remain an eternal record of the service of their Brethren.

A full Festive board with over 50 in attendance celebrated Ribblesdale Lodge No.3933 with food, wine and the Ribblesdale song, led by WBro Keith SImm and then accompanied by all in attendance, linking arms and standing for the final verse.
The full Tylers toast was recited in full and with the accompaniment of the Wardens, after which the Worshipful Master thanked everyone for their support on the evening, expressing regret that WBro Bill LIvesey, WBro Peter Yarwood and WBro Adam Malcolmson couldn’t attend due to ill health, knowing they would all have dearly loved to have been there.

The Brethren were absolved just after 10.30pm on what was a fitting finale for the members of the Lodge.
