Burnley and Pendle District Summer Barbeque

Burnley and Pendle District Summer Barbeque

Hosted by the District Charity Steward, WBro Mark Barlow, the summer BBQ had a total of 69 guests and the weather was glorious, Debbie, Mark’s wife, put on a fantastic spread of Roast Beef in gravy, Chicken Fajitas, all kinds of salad crisps and nuts and much, much more. Mark’s Son and Daughter, Rodney and Sheryl, spent hours making burgers from scratch which James Kirk and Mark cooked, along with a mountain of sausages.

James also collected the money from guests at the door and his partner, Nicola Ingham, sold raffle tickets. Said Mark “Both worked tirelessly all day it is also worth mentioning that James is to join Pendle Lodge in September. Ian Salthouse provided the music and what a great job he did. Walter Coupe and his lovely wife, Terry, worked the bar and went round collecting empties, we could not have managed without them, I also had help from Joey Meeks who lent us a BBQ and even went to the trouble of going out and buying more chairs and a table and then putting them together just finishing as guests where arriving”.

All in all a great day that made a total of £675.39 which is going into the Burnley and Pendle District Community Fund.

Mark said, “I would Like to thank everyone that attended the event for their company and support, after all, without them we would not have had such a great day, but I must reserve a special thank you to my lovely wife Debbie, as without her help and support I would not be able to do all the crazy things that I do”.
