Bolton 100 Club and Lodges donate to Bolton Sea Cadets

Wednesday, July 17th, 2019

On Wednesday 17th July members of the district team (and partners) visited Bolton Sea Cadets to see how they were getting on and to present them with cheques totalling £1000 from 2 different Bolton lodges and the Bolton & Farnworth 100 club. The Worshipful Masters of those lodges at the time presenting the cheques.

The sea cadets are doing well of late with them more than doubling their numbers to 50 in the last 18 months. No small part due to the excellent staff there and how much effort Officer in Charge Megan puts in.

The money the district donates via lodges, chapters and the 100 club go towards providing the boys and girls from the surrounding areas with experiences and training courses that will set them up well as they grow older.

As a former Bolton Sea Cadet himself, District Chairman Terry Kakoullis encouraged the assembled cadets to keep going and learn from their experiences there.

The team also took the opportunity to have a look at the classroom that was refurbished via a £3000 grant from Bolton District in the 2017 tercentenary year.

Donations this time from Anchor & Hope 37, Goulburn Menturia 3478 and the 100 club. Earlier in the year there were donations from St George’s Chapter 1723 and St John’s 348.
