Assisting the 'Monday Club' at New Lane Baptist Church

New Lane Baptist Church is based in Oswaldtwistle, near Accrington. The church is a hub for the local community and it has a growing congregation under the direction of the Pastor Christine Neal.
As well as being a place of worship the church is also utilised as a much needed community centre. The church currently hosts a youth group, however due to the declining kitchen facilities an older persons group known as the “Monday Club” has been suspended. The Monday Club provided an opportunity for the older members of the community to socialise and to have refreshments and eat food together.
Some of the church volunteers are enthusiastic to develop the venue into a community café on Fridays to bring all sections of the community together.
Bro Mark Clayton, the Charity Steward for Fidelity and Crusaders Lodge 269 made a request to provide funds towards improving the church’s kitchen facilities at the District Charity Stewards’ meeting. The Charity Stewards agreed a donation of £200.
