On Monday 22 October, two members of the East Lancs Education & Development Committee Events Team delivered a most interesting demonstration and explanation of the 2nd Degree, ably assisted by a “volunteer” candidate from the Host Lodge, Palatine 2447.
Tony Costello and Elliot Moss convinced the assembled audience that the Passing Ceremony is not just a convenient interlude between the 1st and 3rd degrees but has deeper significance than many Brethren realise. The symbolism and ritual were excellently explained and demonstrated whilst the Lodge room was otherwise in perfect silence, followed by a succession of searching and deep questions, answered by an obviously very well-read and knowledgeable Tony Costello.
Grateful thanks to the hosting Lodge from the Education & Development Committee.
