Final Meeting of Blakewater Lodge of Installed Masters No.9574

On Wednesday the 27th of September, Blakewater Lodge No.9574 met for the final time, handing the Warrant of the Lodge to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro John Farrington PSGD.
The Worshipful Master, WBro Peter Book PProvDepGReg, gave an emotional and heartfelt tribute to the life of the Lodge, from it’s consecration on the 20th of February 1995 through it’s happy years in Blackburn and Darwen, including it’s many social occasions enjoyed by members and friends over this time.
After closing the Lodge, the members who were able to be in attendance, including one of the founders WBro Ian Malloch PProvDepGReg, formed in a circle headed by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and passed the Warrant to each other, with the Worshipful Master WBro Book handing it to WBro Farrington for it’s onward journey to United Grand Lodge.
On receiving the warrant, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master commented that he knew exactly how the Brethren were feeling, having regretfully closed his own Lodge, but he stressed that the Brethren should be proud of their Lodges’ contribution to Freemasonry in the area, wishing them all the very best for the future.
The Festive board was a warm, enjoyable occasion and a fitting end to the story of Blakewater Lodge of Installed Masters No.9574.
