Skills Needed - Communications Committee

The Communications Committee has a strategy whose purpose is to:
- engage in activities which support the Province’s core activities in restructuring, recruitment, retention, charity, care, community and communication
- deliver high quality internal communications and improve internal communication systems
- To effect and maintain an improvement in the external perception of Freemasonry and to continue to develop the communication of the positive story of Freemasonry in a modern society
We have a committee comprising a Chairman the Communications Officer from each District, a Secretary and advisory members. We also have a separate Website Development Committee and Publications Subcommittee.
Below is a list of skills and support we are looking for. Please complete the Application Form HERE to register your interest. Please quote the Reference number on your application. Please ensure you complete all the answers before submitting your form even if that means writing in a nil response. If submitted correctly you should receive an auto-reply by email and the screen will show you a summary of the information you have submitted which can be printed for your own records. This Application form will be sent to David Biggs, the Chairman of the Communications Committee, who will respond shortly.

| Computer literate volunteers

to assist with adding news to the Provincial Website, preferably with skills in image and word editing and proficient with Dreamweaver or similar web editing software, or who are prepared to be trained in using such applications. |
| Specialist Web Designers

who we can call on from time to time for future development of the structure and functionality of pglel.co.uk and elmc.co.uk (having a regard for the need for simplicity, particularly for those of us who add news and information to the site on a daily basis). |
Advertising Specialist

to assist with procurement of advertisers (masonic or non-masonic) to raise finance for future Provincial Magazines and financing of other Communication activities and materials |
| Brethren with professional associations with media channels
Ref: Comms004 |
newspapers / radio / television etc to advise on and assist with our approach to such organisations, with a view to further raising the profile of Freemasonry in East Lancashire (which may be of benefit for displacing any misconceptions and spreading our good message). |
Publishing

to assist with the production of the new Provincial Magazine currently being developed. |
Photography
Ref: Comms006 |
to be called on from time to time, to assist with the recording of major District or Provincial events. Also, at mutually agreeable times, to take formal portrait photos of Provincial Leaders for the website, masonic hall portraits and for library use. |
Reporting Communication Officers

to be called on from time to time to report on major Provincial events (photography skills are also helpful here) for inclusion on the Provincial Website, in Provincial Publications and for press releases |
ELMC Communication Officer

to attend meetings of the ELMC Community Fund and the main board of the ELMC and attend to report on Community activities funded wholly or partly by the ELMC for the benefit of the ELMC website, the Provincial website, Provincial Publications and the for Press Releases to the local Press or other media outlets. |
