The heritage open day that took place last Saturday at the Rochdale Masonic Hall turned out to be a great success. Over 50 visitors attended and on leaving they all gave very positive feed back on their visit. Importantly, the event resulted in a number of hall bookings and the possibility of at least 4 new members. (one person to be interviewed next week )
Both the small and large dining rooms on the ground floor were set out to show the buildings availability to hold wedding ceremonies. In addition, a video loop, which highlighted the work of Freemasonry in the community was shown in the large dining room.
In one of the committee rooms on the first floor, a power point presentation was give by two of our more senior members with the objective of showing details of the structure of Freemasonry within the District together with our involvements with various charities.
The large lodge room was set up for a craft ceremony with two members wearing and describing their craft regalia. The small lodge room on the other hand was set out for a Chapter ceremony.
Visitors were guided through the various rooms in the buildings and in conclusion were offered light refreshments in the large dining room.
We actively support the local community good causes and charities
