Droylsden Remembers

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016

A Remembrance Sunday service, given by Lay Preacher Neil Crane, took place at the Cenotaph on Cemetery Road, Droylsden on Sunday November 13th

The parade commenced at St Marys Church, Church Street led by the St John’s Church band and local residents gathered to remember our fallen heroes.

WBro Nigel Johnson PProvSGD, Audenshaw District Charity Steward, laid a wreath for and on behalf of the Freemasons.

All of our armed forces along with their Cadets, the Royal British Legion, the Ambulance Service, the Fire Service, Greater Manchester Police, Scouts, Brownies and others laid wreaths followed by local people paying their respects laying crosses etc.

They shall grow not old

As we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them

Nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun

And in the morning

We will remember them
