Burnley and Pendle District Freemasons bring some Christmas Cheer

Friday, December 15th, 2017

Food to the value of £250.00 was delivered to the Nelson Salvation Army Citadel on Wednesday 5th December, courtesy of the Burnley and Pendle District Freemasons.

The food will be used to make up parcels for those who may be struggling to make ends meet this Christmas. Major Carole Ainsworth of the Salvation Army said, “there are about 300 people in our area, most of whom are small children, who will benefit from the donation this Christmas”.

Whilst at the citadel a request for small cuddly toys for the smaller children was being put out to the general public and as a result 36 Teddies for Loving Care (T.L.C.) bears were donated, again from the local Freemasons.

Major Ainsworth, who is in charge of the Citadel at Nelson said, “we are very grateful to all the people who donate to this worthy cause and we thank the Burnley and Pendle Freemasons for their continued support and for the additional donation of the Teddies for Loving care”.
