JOINERS FROM A FOREIGN CONSTITUTION
- Lodge Secretary must write to the Provincial Grand Secretary, who will, in turn contact The Grand Secretary seeking confirmation that the potential joining member is from a Constitution recognised by UGLE.
- On receipt of clearance from the Provincial Grand Secretary (but not until written confirmation has been received), the ballot may proceed.
- Secretary will complete Form P.
- Before joining, the candidate must make the following Declaration (Rule 163), “I, ……….., initiated in …..Lodge No…. on the Register of the Grand Lodge of ……….. do solemnly declare that if I am admitted a member of this Lodge I will adhere to the Book of Constitutions of the United Grand Lodge of England, and promise due obedience to the Grand Master thereof and to all the Rules and Regulations of such United Grand Lodge”.
- The Declaration must be recorded in the minutes.
- The Joining Member MUST be presented with a Book of Constitutions.
- Within 2 weeks of joining, the fully completed Form P should be forwarded to the Provincial Office together with the clearance letter.
