Order of Procedure

  1. The Companions assemble in the Chapter Room
  2. Opening Hymn

  3. Hail Eternal, by whose aid May our work begun in Thee,
    All created things were made, Ever blest with order be;
    Heaven and earth Thy vast design, And may we. when labours cease,
    Hear us, Architect Divine. Part in harmony and peace.

    By Thy Glorious Majesty  
    By the trust we place in Thee,  
    By the badge and mystic sign,

  4. The Chapter is opened.
  5. The Chapter Scribe E reads a Dispensation [if appropriate].
  6. The ME Grand Superintendent is admitted accompanied by the Provincial Deputation.
  7. The Third Provincial Grand Principal recites an Opening Prayer.
  8. The ME Grand Superintendent addresses the Companions on the purpose of the Meeting.
  9. The Provincial Grand Scribe E addresses the ME Grand Superintendent.
  10. The ME Grand Superintendent gives direction.
  11. The Provincial Grand Scribe E reads the Certificate of Amalgamation.
  12. The Third Provincial Grand Principal delivers an Oration.
  13. A number of the Companions of the Amalgamated Chapter are arranged around the Banners.

  1. The Third Provincial Grand Principal reads Leviticus, Chapter 2, verse 13.
  2. The Companions sing:

    Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
    O’er the worlds tempestuous sea;
    Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
    For we have no help but Thee,
    Yet possessing every blessing
    If our God our Father be.

  3. The ME Grand Superintendent sprinkles salt, the symbol of hospitality and friendship.
  4. The Third Provincial Grand Principal takes the censer around the Chapter, reciting Exodus 30 Verses 7 and 8.
  5. The Third Provincial Grand Principal recites the Amalgamation Prayer.
  6. The ME Grand Superintendent affirms the Amalgamation of the Chapters.
  7. The Companions sing “Let us have Harmony”.

  9. The Companions of the Amalgamated Chapter resume their seats.

  1. The ME Grand Superintendent delivers the Charters, Certificate of Amalgamation, Banner[s] and By Laws to the MEZ.
  2. The Third Provincial Grand Principal delivers the Patriarchal Benediction.
  3. The ME Grand Superintendent addresses the Companions
  4. Collection of Alms.
  5. The ME Grand Superintendent accompanied by the Provincial Deputation retires.
  6. The Chapter is closed
  7. Closing Hymn
  8. Now the evening shadows closing;  God of light, whose love unceasing Humbly now we bow before Thee,
    Warn from toil to peaceful rest; Doth to all Thy works extend; Grateful for Thine aid Divine;
