AMALGAMATION
For the receiving Chapter the following format must be used as a Notice of Motion.
[The following should be printed on the Summons]
Notice of Motion in the name of [name and rank] that :-
- This Chapter accept the amalgamation into it of the […..] Chapter(s) and, jointly with the said Chapter(s), petition the ME First Grand Principal for a Certificate of Amalgamation [and for the name of this Amalgamated Chapter to be ……].
- The transfer to this Chapter of such of the assets and funds of the […..] Chapter(s) as are capable of being disposed by the Members thereof shall be deemed to be payment of the joining Fees in respect of such Members of the […..] Chapter(s) as wish to become joining Members of this Chapter.
At the following Meeting the Resolutions must be voted upon, requiring a two thirds majority of the Membership in attendance at the chosen Meeting together with any postal votes. [Note:- those not present must have the opportunity to vote by post but NOT by proxy]. This must precede the election of Members of the closing Chapter as joining Members [that is if the latter were proposed in open Chapter at the previous Meeting, otherwise they should be proposed at this Meeting and balloted for at the next].
(Note! If for any reason the above resolutions are not passed at the meeting, then the APGP must be advised)
[The following should be printed on the Summons of the next Regular Chapter meeting]
PURSUANT TO NOTICE OF MOTION
To receive the Propositions, which were given on [date] by [name and rank] that :-- This Chapter accept the amalgamation into it of the […..] Chapter(s) and, jointly with the said Chapter, petition the ME First Grand Principal for a Certificate of Amalgamation [and for the name of this Amalgamated Chapter to be ……].
- The transfer to this Chapter of such of the assets and funds of the […..] Chapter(s) as are capable of being disposed by the Members thereof shall be deemed to be payment of the joining Fees in respect of such Members of the […..] Chapter(s) as wish to become joining Members of this Chapter.
