First Successful Orators Conference The very first Orators conference was held at Freemasons Hall in London on Saturday 22 January when delegates from numerous provinces attended the event led by the Grand Orator Kai Hughes. In the morning delegates were shown how to use the Orator’s Forum website by Richard Ebrey, the Provincial Orator for Devon followed by an interactive session led by John Kermode, Provincial Orator, Isle of Man which proved to be very interesting and thought provoking for facilitating debate following the delivery of an oration. The effectiveness of the Orator scheme was examined leading to a quite lively debate as to how the scheme could be improved with some good ideas being put forward. To round off the day a question and answer was led by Kai which provoked some very interesting observations from the delegates. All in all, a very successful first conference.
