Role Requirements and Guidance Information for Charity Stewards

1 INTRODUCTION

This Handbook has been prepared to assist Lodge and Chapter Charity Stewards in fulfilling their duties and to introduce newly appointed Stewards to the requirements of their office. Whilst the Handbook may not provide all the answers, we hope that it will prove to be a major step forward in providing the help, which may be required from time to time, and it will be updated as necessary. It is the Charity Steward's responsibility to ensure that such amendments are inserted as instructed.

The current Charity Steward should always retain the Handbook. It is a controlled document and, as such, its location should always be known.

The change of office usually takes place at Installations and this must be notified on the Installation Return. If the change takes place between Installation meetings, the Lodge Secretary or Chapter Scribe E should inform the Provincial Grand Secretary, in writing and advise him of the name, address and telephone/e.mail details of the new incumbent. This will ensure that all relevant communications will reach him without delay. The same information should also be communicated to the District Charity Steward.

Any queries, comments or suggestions for future amendments or additions should be sent to the Provincial Grand Charity Steward at the following address:

Freemasons' Hall
Bridge Street
Manchester M3 3BT
Telephone 0161 832 6256
