Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire
East Lancashire Provincial Grand Officers Lodge, No. 3747 - 31st March, 2009

Brothers Jeremy Paul, Ron Taylor, Craig Jones, Mark Coulthread, Ryan Ollerton, Mike Embrey and Tom Britton were 7 young Masons who shared the table with the newly Installed Worshipful Master, Bro Roy Taylor, PJGD, Immediate Past Master, RWBro Jack Price, Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Dr Nigel Graham Bramley-Haworth, Deputy Provincial Grand Master and WBro H Alan J Garnett, PJGD, Provincial Grand Secretary (all pictured above) at the Festive Board of the East Lancashire Provincial Grand Officers Lodge, No. 3747, on 31st March, 2009.

Quite fitting was this gathering of enthusiastic young Masons too, as prior to the Installation the Provincial Grand Master appointed and invested the Province's first Provincial Grand Mentor - WBro Martin P Roche, and Provincial Grand Orator, WBro Kai Hughes. The PGM expressed his gratitude to both of these brethren for taking on the great tasks ahead of them - contributing heavily to the well being, development and success of the Province in the coming months and years. They, in their own right, and together with other members of the Education and Development Committee under the Chairmanship of WBro Peter Messum, have a huge role to play in retention of brethren, supporting new and established members of the Province in their Masonry, introducing greater understanding of Freemasonry and helping all to enjoy their Masonry to the fullest. when their certificates of appointment were presented they were warmly applauded by the Lodge members present.

The Installation of the Master, WBro Roy Taylor (2nd Provincial Grand Principal in the Royal Arch) followed. In a warm ceremony, tinged with good feeling, Jack duly Installed his successor who was treated to a fine rendition of the tools of the three Degrees by WBro Andrew Hollland, PProvJGW, an excellent Master's address by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and a splendid and powerful address to the brethren worked by the Provincial Grand Secretary,

The Lodge meeting and Social Board was extremely well attended and it appeared that every Brother enjoyed the evening to the fullest. The newly invested Senior Warden, WBro Ian Casson (who becomes PAGDC at the Craft Investiture meeting of the Grand Lodge in April 2009) had prepared a humour full and well thought out toast to the Provincial Grand Master, in which he referred to the tremendous amount of work performed by Jack and his Craft and Royal Arch Executives, Jack's total commitment and leadership from the front and the manner in which he has served with great distinction in every Office he has ever held. He also reminded the brethren about a very special Lady who has supported Jack, and therefore us, wholeheartedly - his beloved wife, Dorothy - "we love her to bits as well"
