Development of Freemasons' Hall, Bridge Street

Freemasons’ Hall, Bridge Street, Manchester

The building work on Freemasons’ Hall, Bridge Street, is scheduled to commence in April 2012. The Craft Lodges and Royal Arch Chapters, which usually meet at Bridge Street, Manchester will be accommodated at Hemsley House, Salford Masonic Hall. Dependant upon room availability, Hemsley House will be able to accommodate additional Orders and others who normally meet at Manchester.  The precise date for the work to commence has yet to be determined and it is likely that the Hall will be ready for re-occupation in November 2012.

Hemsley House will be having a Briefing day for Secretaries, Scribe Es and other interested parties at 11.00 am on Saturday 28th January 2012. Please notify Reg Newsome of your intention to attend for refreshment reasons.

Two meetings were held for Manchester and Salford Masonson Tuesday, 25 October 2011 and Tuesday, 1 November 2011, at Freemasons’ Hall, Bridge Street.

The presentations clarified the situation with regard to meeting at Salford, including:

  • the dining arrangements, terms of business and details on accommodation etc.,
  • an explanation, in more depth, of the planned development work at Freemasons’ Hall,
  • an excellent opportunity to ask questions of the various teams involved in the project and
  • being able to learn about the proposed management structure for Bridge Street Freemasonry in the future.

In order to assist everyone, after the meetings the visual display is now on permanent view within the entrance to Freemasons’ Hall.
