Masonic T.L.C. Teddy Bears
Another milestones was reached by the East Lancashire Freemasons recently when the “2,500th T.L.C.Bear” (Teddies for Loving Care) was presented at the Royal Blackburn Hospital for the children whenever needed in their day to day running of the A & E Unit.
Samantha Nicol the Divisional Director of Medicine said that it was amazing to see the relief of the tension along with the look on the faces of the children during these difficult moments. The generosity of the Freemasons in the community of East Lancashire helps to make their lives a little bit more bearable often at a time when a small child cannot understand what is happening.
It is also good to know that since the original launch of this project in April 2006 the General Hospital in Burnley has also had deliveries of “Masonic T.L.C. Teddy Bears”
The photograph shows the Charity Steward for Blackburn and Darwen David Lightbown, and the Mayor Councillor Maureen McGarvey, the Charity Steward for Accrington and District Raymond Tattersall and Divisional Director of Medicine Samantha Nicol holding their Teddies.
