The Place2Be Receives Support from The Freemasons' Grand Charity
On 16 January 2008 WBro James Sutcliffe Assistant Provincial Grand Master accompanied by the Burnley & Pendle District Chairman attended Reedley Community Primary School to present a cheque from the Freemasons' Grand Charity for £25,000 for the Place2B Charity. The Event was hosted by the school who put on a series of displays showing what children should do in the event of bullying and other personal abuse.
The Place2B will provide one-to-one counselling services with a drop-in service within schools. It will support troubled children, their families and carers with a view to give them the means to overcome their problems and for them to lead a successful life. It will start working in Burnley & Pendle in the spring of 2008 within 6 schools. The cheque for £25,000 will kick start the project and it is the first of three such donations to the Place2B Charity.
Pictured with the cheque for £25,000 are two of the children at Reedley Community Primary School who took part in an excellent presentation.
