Role of the Provincial Grand Mentor
The Provincial Grand Mentor is a dual role, encompassing both the Craft and the Royal Arch. He takes total responsibility for developing the policies and strategies of his Office and is answerable to the Deputy Provincial Grand Master.

On occasions, the Provincial Grand Mentor may be invited to prepare a report, or deliver a presentation to :

either, or both, the Provincial Executives;

the Provincial Education and Training Committee;

the Districts / Areas;

Lodges & Chapters; and,
-
represent the Province at various meetings.

Aims and Objectives
The aim of the Provincial Grand Mentor is to pursue Mentoring programmes, initiatives and activities that support Lodges and Chapters in the development and growth of Freemasonry in the Province of East Lancashire.
The specific objectives will be:
- Increasing the Recruitment of new members to the Craft and subsequently to the Royal Arch. In particular, those who are of the appropriate standard and calibre that will benefit and develop both the candidate and the Order/s in general.
- Ensuring that all Lodges and Chapters receive guidance and support in creating an atmosphere and practices that are conducive to the Retention of men within both Orders for their lifetime.
- Identifying best practices in Mentoring that are centred on the principle of ‘one-to-one’ mentoring and, through a network of District Mentors, to communicate these to Lodge/Chapter Mentors by:
- providing the required level of advice, guidance and support to APGM/APGP’s, District Chairman and, specifically, District Mentors;
- developing materials and resources that will support Mentoring in Lodges and Chapters;
- designing and delivering such training and development as is necessary for Mentors and Mentoring at both District and Lodge/Chapter level in support of Mentoring;
- assisting Lodges and Chapters in selecting the most appropriate means for former members of the Order/s to be identified, with a view to their Retrieval;
- developing/identifying and communicating best practice in Mentoring in order that they will contribute to the Recovery of the Order/s; and,
- disseminating best practice through and from, the national network of Provincial Grand Mentors, to further enhance and develop Mentoring in East Lancashire.
