Provincial Grand Master's Visit
The Provincial Grand Master accompanied by a Provincial Delegation, including APGM W.Bro Martin S Caller, visited City Sykes and City Starkie Districts on Friday 28th March 2008.
The event was hosted by Cornucopia Lodge No. 4553 of City Sykes District. Around 60 brethren saw Bro. Stephen Morris of Cornucopia Lodge passed to the Second Degree, in a fine ceremony conducted by the Worshipful Master, Bro. Roy Chapman. The Lodge was presented with artefacts from the now closed, Lancastrians Lodge, by W.Bro Jim Fallon. The Provincial Grand Master received two cheques on behalf of ELMC.
The Provincial Grand Master was able to meet a number of brethren during pre-dinner drinks, and was entertained at the dinner by the newly passed brother, Stephen Morris, and a number of other junior brethren. In his address, the Provincial Grand Master stressed the importance of the initiative re mentoring in the long term future of the Order.

Broken Column Evening
The Manchester Districts are pleased to announce the date of the Annual Broken Column Dinner for our Widows.
It will be held at FMH Bridge Street Manchester, on 19th May 2008. A reception will be held at 7pm for Dinner at 7.30pm. Entertainment will be given by Tony Berry, a singer with the Houghton Weavers Group.
Letters have already been sent to ALL Lodge and Chapter Almoners, for them to invite their own Widows, along with letters of invitation direct to Widows of our Closed Lodges. The Dinner is sponsored by our own Charitable Giving, and is FREE to our Widows. If any members who assist in the Transport of our Widows, would line to join us, then they would be welcome, but we have to make a charge of £21.00. If any Widows wish to be accompanied by a relative or Friend - usually for Transport Purposes, we will invite them as non-paying guests. Almoners, please give details as soon as possible to your District Deputy Chairman, of those attending on the reply form sent to you. If none attending, then please be good enough, to send them a ''NIL'' return.
