Accessing Updated Pages - You may find that sometimes you know a page has been updated but when you visit that page nothing seems to have changed. This is because your computer holds previously visited pages in a temporary internet files folder on your computer (referred to as a "Cache"). To see the new page you need to click on the "Refresh" button of your browser to tell it to reload the updated page from the server, rather than load it from the cache. If it still fails to show the new page then hold down the Control (Ctrl) key while clicking "Refresh". Alternatively, use Ctrl-F5, as the F5 key performs the same function as the "Refresh" button on your browser.
23rd December 2007 - Now incorporated the new design for all the Royal Arch Pages.
26th October 2007 - New look website launched.
8th March 2007 - Improvement to Home Page to include details of latest news from each District.
27th February 2007 - District Information Sub-Menu changed to reflect the new District Organisation in Manchester.
25th January 2007 - New link added to "For Lodge Officers" button taking you to the "Guide for Directors of Ceremonies" which was published in 2003.
8th December 2006 - new links added to navigation buttons:
Added a link "The Structure of Freemasonry in E Lancs." to the "About Us" button. Added "Address to the Lodge Charity Steward" link and "Address to the Chapter Charity Steward" to the "Masonic Care" button. Removed the "Contact Form" sub-menu from the "Contact Us" button and replaced with a link to the "Contact Details" page.
18th September 2006 - big change to Rochdale News Pages. So much material has been provided by this very busy District that the main Rochdale News Page has now been set up as a "Table of Contents" with just the latest news items on the page and links to all the other items, which now have a page to themselves.
10th September 2006 - New page added under the "About Us" button, Freemasons Page - Click here to see how Freemasonry is organised in East Lancashire. Gives a full list of all the Masonic Halls and the Lodges that meet there, under each Area/District.
7th September 2006 - Lots more information added under the "Royal Arch" button. Clicking on the blue RA button takes you to a whole new set of RA buttons which give access to each RA Area, each of which list all the Chapters in that area and will be used for Area News and other items. I have also listed all Chapters in both Alphabetic and Numeric Order.
There is a button for the Grand Superintendent which currently links to his 16th March Address at Provincial Grand Chapter. There are also buttons for RA Events and RA News which are currently awaiting some "real" information. There are three "spare" buttons, currently unmarked, to be used for further developments.
11th July 2006 - Change made to the Comment Form. A further security question has been added to reduce the chances of automated spam programmes sending unwanted messages. This has been quite a problem for us (on and off) over the last couple of months. With the new added question requiring human intervention we should now block quite a lot of these rogue messages. Until something else comes up!!
27th April 2006 - Internet Explorer 7 goes public with Beta 2. Microsoft has publicly released the second beta of Internet Explorer 7. Available for download from www.microsoft.com/ie , the latest build is said to be feature complete and includes 'reliability and compatibility enhancements'. Why not down load it and give it a try?
20th April 2006 - New arrangement for Navigation buttons
In order to gain more horizontal space the navigation buttons, which originally were down the left hand side of the screen, have now been moved to the top of each page, just underneath the title bar. At the same time the colour has been changed from the previous red button to a pale blue button. The blue is the same shade as in the Provincial Logo. The button text remains white. This change is in an attempt to improve the legibility of the button text. A few comments have been received saying the previous white text on the red background was hard to read.
While this has been going on it a new button has been introduced specifically for the Holy Royal Arch. It is expected that in the near future, further material will be made available under this button.
These changes have also been made to overcome a problem that people using Netscape had experienced, where the longer pages were being cut off. With this new arrangement this problem has been overcome.
A new layout has been introduced for the Latest News page.
